Man This Year Happened Fast!!!
In the words of the Grateful Dead... What a long strange trip it's been. A lot of stuff has happened since we talked last. I joined a band in the spring and split in the summer. Typical Me. Sometimes when your a big river, you just gotta flow through some stuff.
I started a new band with some real good friends of mine and we've been writing some new songs and working on building a studio. We're developing a very catchy, old school classic rock, riff based more modern-ity***, Texas Rock and Country sort of sound. The story lines are catchy and sometimes stained with very rustic hints, let's call them stains, of emotion. I dig it. The new music is very oranic sounding with some old soul, and Rhythm and Blues influences.

The Naming of The Band...
One of the hardest things about starting a band, aside from finding people who play well, getting good equipment, finding a place to practice, working out all the scheduling nightmares, and then putting all that together and making good music.... the hardest part... is naming the project. We tossed a bunch of stuff around... and one night the guys call me and say hey dude, we came up with the band name. So they agreed that Drinkwater would be a good name for our band and they were calling to tell me to get used to it. Pretty much. I was pushing real hard for Drinkwater Floyd & The Too Drunk To Drive Band. But the guys thought it might be too much of a liability to put that on the side of the van real big, then drive halfway across Texas at 3:30 in the morning. Good Call Guys... I didn't see that one coming. Anyway... so keep your eyes out for us... we'll be popping up a little bit here and there in the next few months. Mostly we'll be in the studio recording a new album.
